This is the Burdekin Dry Tropics Regional Information Portal. The purpose of this wiki is to have a fully interlinked and searchable information resource about this region. This wiki will not provide detailed reports, but instead aims to provide a broad overview of inter-related information throughout the Burdekin Dry Tropics Region. Links to more detailed reports will be available for further reading.

This Information Portal is hosted by the Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM (BDTNRM) which operates as a community based, not-for-profit company established in 2002 to deliver on-ground Natural Resource Management (NRM) activities and enhance the community's involvement in those issues throughout the Burdekin Region.

NEWS
- The Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM and Coastal Dry Tropics Landcare Group Incorporated have released the Coastal Plants of the Burdekin Dry Tropics booklet.
- The Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM and Townsville Regional Bird Observers Club have released the Coastal Birds of the Burdekin Dry Tropics booklet.
- A new joint initiative between the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO has been launched that will be the largest water information research project in the southern hemisphere. The Water Information Research and Development Alliance (WIRADA) is a five-year, $50 million research partnership between the Bureau and CSIRO. It aims to provide a state-of-the-art, national database on Australia's water resources.
Projects
The Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM sponsor projects to address priorities as identified in the Burdekin Dry Tropics Regional Plan. Some of these projects are:

- Land Resource Assessment Burdekin Dry Tropics Land Resource Assessment Project
- Satellite Imagery Acquisition Project SPOT 5 Image Purchase for BDTNRM region
- Fish Barrier Assessment and Restoration
