Woodland Birds of the Burdekin Dry Tropics front cover

The Woodland Birds of the Burdekin Dry Tropics is the second in the series of books produced by NQ Dry Tropics and Townsville Region Bird Observers Club. It was compiled with help from the Traditional Owner Management Group, and covers the bids that are most likely to be seen in the woodlands of our region. Copies of the book can be found by approaching either NQ Dry Tropics or going to the Townsville Region Bird Observers Club, and asking for a copy.

The book contains 46 birds that are most likely to be seen in various woodland habitats in the region and for each bird there are photographs and text to help identify birds. The book has a heavy focus on helping prevent loss of further species, and has a 2 page special on the endangered Black-throated Finch, which is a heavily endangered animal - with the NQ Dry Tropics region being one of the last areas where the bird can be commonly seen.
