NQ Dry Tropics is the leading natural resource management body for the Burdekin Dry Tropics region. We help look after our natural assets.

We’re a not-for-profit private company that is committed to sustaining our region’s resources for current and future generations.

Natural resources include land and water. They’re made up of our rivers, oceans, beaches, bushland, the dirt in our paddocks, the gardens in our homes and schools, our native species and so much more.

NQ Dry Tropics achieves results by bringing together the aspirations of communities, primary industry and government to identify clear priorities for land and water management in our region.

You could call us the “honest broker” of knowledge, expertise and evidence-based science.

NQ Dry Tropics has been a leading delivery agent of land and water management change across the Burdekin Dry Tropics region since 2005.

Formerly called Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM, our vision has always been a balance of healthy natural, social, cultural and economic systems for current and future generations. Our goal is to have an empowered community that delivers solutions to natural resource management issues for the best environmental, social, cultural and economic outcomes in the Dry Tropics Catchments.

NQ Dry Tropics has a board of directors who identify the organisation’s direction and goals. The directors have a mix of skills and experience, having been drawn from traditional owner groups, local government, sciences and the community.
